Turning Actions into Resolutions

Preparation for Mediation

Mediation typically begins with written submissions and/or phone calls to the mediator prior to the first mediation session. In this way, the mediator can begin to understand the issues at hand as well as the perspectives and interests of all parties, and has a chance to contact the parties to clarify anything ahead of time.

This information is ONLY for use by the mediator and is not brought into mediation except at the request of the party who submitted or provided any given information. What's more, this information is returned or destroyed at the conclusion of the mediation process to ensure the privacy of everyone involved.

The Mediation Process

After the mediator has time to review and clarify information provided beforehand, the process of mediation actually begins once the parties are ready.
